Gas Tax Holiday

with 2 comments

One of the truly silly ideas floating around the US election. McCain started it saying Americans should not have to pay gas tax in the summer. Hillary followed that up with the idea that the oilcos would be forced to pay the tax for their customers.

From this morning’s ABC “town hall” with Hillary Clinton, about the gas tax holiday:

STEPHANOPOULOS: “But can you name an economist who thinks this makes sense?”
CLINTON: “Well, I’ll tell you what, I’m not going to put my lot in with economists.”

We can’t get no respect

  1. Fortunately, Obama is clearly against the idea.

  2. The usa is in big trouble and its not the mortgage meltdown or the uninsured ,the american goverment has (if they honer it ) a 60 TRILLION dollar obligation over the next 25 years for social security and medi-care and medi-cade!

The usa goverment has borrowed 3 trillion from social security, hell their not even paying the interest on it.

The most amazing thing I heard was from JOHN MCCAIN—what he said about the gas tax holiday was and I quote ” its not a lot of money but people can go out and buy an encyclopedia or perhaps a new book ” Too bad most americans don`t read, especially their own (true) history—————————signed…………………Barrack(I am not black)obama
